2019 Convenors

We are excited to welcome you to the 39th Immanuel Arts Festival. This year’s festival has all the favourites and delights of previous festivals, with some extra treats. We thank the Immanuel Parents & Friends Community, Immanuel Lutheran College and our amazing sponsors for their generous support, without which this event wouldn’t be possible.

We also thank you, the visitor, for attending our festival. Whether you’re a student or parent of a student, a local or a visitor to the region, there will be something special for you. Of course, we encourage you to buy some unique art. Purchasing artwork shows your support for local artists.

Classic competition categories are available alongside our innovative Wearable Art category. We showcase inspiring student art from across the region which includes student film and the jewellery design competition kindly sponsored by To Hold & To Have Award Winning Jewellers.

2018 Artist in Focus Dasha Riley has donated a fabulous original artwork which is the prize in our raffle, with tickets sold by Immanuel’s Interact and Eco Clubs.

We’re proud to welcome our amazing Artists in Residence Peter Rowe and Rachael Curry, who have exhibited and sold work at the Festival in previous years and our Artist in Focus Owen Hutchinson, winner of Outstanding Work of the Festival in 2018. Please spend some with them in the centre of the gallery space.

Please also take a moment to contribute to our Collaborative Artwork ‘Totems’. Denise Lamby, award-winning artist and previous Artist in Residence, has been leading our students in collecting and drilling plastic bottle tops to prepare for this artwork to be built during the festival. Take a few lids and add them to the artwork and contribute to this colourful and sustainable piece.

Not to be missed, is our café. Take time to sit and enjoy a coffee, a cake or a freshly prepared snack or lunch in the beautiful College surroundings.

Finally, a huge thank you to the staff and volunteers at Immanuel Lutheran College, and to the exhibiting artists who give their time to make this such a wonderful community event every year.

ABOUT

Showcasing Leading Sunshine Coast Artists

The festival proudly promotes visual, creative and performance art within the Sunshine Coast community and in 2019 will be held from 23 to 26 May at Immanuel Lutheran College.
Hosted by the Parents & Friends Community (P&F) of Immanuel Lutheran College, along with the College’s spring carnival Fruehlingsfest, and Voices on the Coast Literature Festival, the Immanuel Arts Festival is a significant event on the Sunshine Coast calendar.
The College itself is a keen collector of fine art and purchases a number of pieces each year to add to its growing collection.
