Lucy is a 17 year-old artist and Immanuel Lutheran College Year 12 student, who is largely inspired by the intersection of nature and humanity. Influenced and supported by her mum, Lucy has enjoyed art from a young age. Born in New Zealand, Lucy connects with the beauty of the animals she grew up seeing, aiming to express this in her work.
Lucy namely enjoys sketching as a preferred medium and uses intricate strokes to create layered and detailed pieces in her own style. She particularly enjoys using animals, plants, and portraits as subjects to depict our relationship to wildlife and help us think about how we care for animals and the environment.
Lucy continues to develop and practice her skills, having attended different art classes, including sessions at Art School Co., where she was able to assist in teaching younger classes during work experience. Lucy has entered artwork previously in the Immanuel Arts Festival, and last year was awarded ‘Best Work – Year 11’ for her pencil drawing, “What’s Next?”.
