Around 2001, my wonderful pastel teacher, Ann White, was in charge of hanging the artwork at the Immanuel Arts Festival. As I had previous exhibition hanging experience, she asked me to assist her. Ann taught me quite a bit about what to look for when putting paintings together for display.
The following year, Ann was unable to assist and the committee asked me to take on the role which I continued for the next four years. I really enjoyed the task and worked with lots of lovely people. Everyone got involved and it was very exciting to see the finished product.
I returned to work for a few years and Rod took over and continued until a couple of years ago. I still enjoy being part of the exhibition, and as I am also a Botanical Artist, I always enter a couple of pieces of my work – and often sell one.
I retired from full time employment in 2015 and returned to assist with the hanging. Every year there are new parents all willing to help and enjoy the process once more.
